I'm hoping to put the B18 Honda(1800 dohc v tec) engine into my honda engined 216, can anyone shed any light on whether engine mounts line up,gear selecter matches up and drive shafts fit hubs? thanks...

I don't think threre's any difference between man/auto engines,if your going to change engines it's definately worth putting in twin cam honda engine,a very easy swap...

I'm trying to find the ratio's for each gear on these two gearboxes also do they use a different diff ratio? is there a way of telling externally which gearbox is from which engine i.e dohc or sohc? any info appreciated.

I snapped a drivers side shaft last nite but this was in a banger race! i had a hard impact on passenger side but the drivers side broke,generally the shafts seem quite strong but i always carry a spare.I don't think rust would cause it,more so the forces twisting the shaft.
