Re: Track Rod End - Split Pin or Nylon Lock Nut

As a great fan of 'originality', I experienced the same disappointment a couple of years ago when I ordered new track rod ends for my 220 :wink3 Having said that, none of my other cars have left the factory with castellated nuts and split pins in their suspension components (from classic Mini, Austi...

Re: what seats fit a Rover 25 2001 3dr

What is the exact problem with your existing seat?

Is the backrest partially detached from the base?
Will it not lock in the upright position?
Does anything appear to be obviously bent or broken?

Re: Engine light on

With the Honda engines, the ECU has an LED on it that will flash a code to give you a guide as to what the fault is.

I don't have access to any more information right now, but I am sure somebody else will be along soon to help :welcome

Re: Which carburator rebuild kit do I need?

The idle speed and mixture are controlled by the fuel system ECU, which is probably located somewhere in the dashboard area (on a Maestro or Montego, which uses the same engine and fuel system, the ECU is mounted on a panel in the top of the glovebox). It is not directly controlled by the ignition E...

Re: Rovers at East Kirkby July 2005

My guess is that it relates to the opening/detachable roof, which would make the SD1 the odd one out (sliding sunroof panel).

Re: Speedo stopped but milometer works

Definitely sounds like a speedo head fault to me.

Maybe fixable by somebody with expert knowledge of electronics, but probably easier to swap out for a new or secondhand one: you will just need to find the right one to match your gearbox and tyre size etc.

Re: K series misfire diagnosis

Although its ECU is not modern enough to produce codes, my wife's Rover 114 cabriolet (8-valve K-series with SPI) was exactly the same as your TF (in terms of misfires and general flatness) when I took it for the MoT last year. It had been stored outdoors for much of the winter with a small amount o...

Re: R8 A/C

Yes, it was a factory option on the R8 220 and 420 cars, although few buyers specified it, as it was over £1000 at the time. Some cars also had it dealer-fitted (which I assume would not be as integrated as the factory option). Japanese spec Turbo Coupes (including the 'FDH' cars) had it as standard...

Re: 1995 216 instruments

Yes, assuming your car has the earlier dashboard (the change happened in 1995) it is very likely to be the speedo cable. (Later cars had an electronic speedo with no mechanical drive). All of the earlier cars had a two part cable and the joint is in the engine bay near the fuel filter (follow the ca...
