Re: Cabriolet hood
I used then a few years back. The job was well done. It was my second roof. The first one was cut following a failure of the little link arm that brings the roof in towards the car as the hood goes back. That replacement was a plastic roof which shrunk so badly that rain got in everywhere. I am very...

Rear Tyre, inner edge wear
I fitted new Avon tyres to my 216 Cabriolet less than a year ago (under 6000 miles driven). Today my garage tells me that the inner edges of both rear tyres are almost bald. Is there any adjustment to the rear wheel geometry that could need to be changed? Or is it likely to be wear and tear on the 3...

Re: R8 Cars with Infrared fobs - future support?
I would buy one of these kits. My "L" registered 1994 216 Cabriolet has 2 infrared fobs. One of them works, but one doesn't,
I would like to get back to a fully working system.

Re: 200 cabrio electrical gremlins
I have looked up the following items in the Haynes manual wiring diagrams.
The boot lamp, the clock maintenance and the interior light are all powered through Fuse 12 in the passenger fuse box. Have you checked this fuse? It should be 15A.

Re: Alarm going off
I had the same problem with my '94 Cabriolet. It seemed worse when there was water in the air (mist and rain). For quite a while, rather than locking the car with the key and setting the alarm, I would hold the outside door handle open (up) whilst pressing the lock button on the drivers door. This h...

Re: Alarm warning light
Don't expect anything helpful in the Haynes Manual regarding Cabriolet specifics. I have just checked my Manual and there is nothing about the cabriolet alarm. The handbook which came with the car is much more helpful. My 216 Cabriolet first registered April 1994 has central locking and the standard...

216 Cabriolet heater
The heater on my 216 Cabriolet produces uneven amounts of hot air to the drivers side compared with the passenger side. Whilst driving, my feet are cooked in the heat whilst my poor wife is freezing cold. Is there any adjustment or fix known for this problem?
Thanks

Re: 216 Cabriolet Stop Lights
There was quite a long section of switch actuator rod showing at the pedal end of the switch. I managed to undo the lock nut and rotate the switch to move it closer to the pedal. There is now no play, so I suspect I will no longer get phantom brake light actuation. The only issue is the need to be a...

216 Cabriolet Stop Lights
I needed to leave my Cabriolet with the engine running parked on my drive. I was surprised to return and see the Brake Lights illuminated. Pressing the brake pedal and releasing it turned them off, but after a while they came back on. Would you recommend checking the adjustment of the current switch...

Water in the boot
I have been having problems with water in the boot of my 1994 216 Cabriolet. It is definitely the rubber flap assembly on the LHS of the boot. We bought this car in 1996, and I have never needed to look at this assembly before. It turns out someone has surrounded the flap assembly with silicone seal...
