Rover 75 with broken power steering
Hallo everybody, I used to write a while ago, when I bought my '97 414i. I still own that car and it is a pleasure to drive. I need some advise on a Rover 75, so I write in the offtopic area... Now a friend's friend wants to get rid of a Rover 75 with a broken power steering, and seems to be willing...

Re: So, they're all worth £2k till December.
That has gone on for some years now in Italy in the late nineties. At the beginning it was a government scheme applicable on any new car purchase, where the scrapped cars had to be crushed and disposed of. At the same time a new law over junkyard created more stringent requisite for keeping cars whi...

Re: 100% head gasket failures on K-series engines???
Thank you for your feedbacks. The author point is that the original silicon gasket will age prematurely due to exposure to heat, failing in a very short time. According to the author, the gasket is the same for all the engine sizes, so the more heat, the more ageing. As a result the 1.8 engines woul...

100% head gasket failures on K-series engines???
Hallo everybody, I've recently purchased this book: Rover: K-series Engine by Des Hammill https://www.amazon.it/Rover-K-Engine-Colin-Pitt/dp/191024127X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502812828&sr=8-1&keywords=rover+k-series I was expecting to read an in-deep review of the said engine, but I've ...

I will most probably do that too, but on a 1988 BMW 316i.
Tried to drive to LM classic in 2016 in the same Lancia Fulvia Coupè...broke the engine before reaching France.
But the little red car has done it magnificently this year, after an engine rebuild.

Trip to Le Mans 24hr - June 14th-17th 2018
Ok, this IS planning. Upon getting a lot of shame on facebook for my 414i purchase, on the fields of looks and reliability, I've dared everybody, and announced I will drive it to Le Mans for the 24hr of 2018. This year I've done the drive on a 1972 Lancia Fulvia Coupè, then the Rover, with A/C, radi...

Re: Central locking not working -> alarm?
The change in fault status might be due to the garage disconnecting the battery? 220GSI Turbo talk's about the sensors in the door locks, perhaps one is faulty and that is causing the ECU to unlock the doors? As for the battery, it could as well be the other way around. When I collected the car, th...

Books/magazines on Rover and Rover 400
Every time I buy a "new" old car, I like to collect as much documents as I can find about the marque and the model. Collecting books about rover is proving to be quite challenging: I've found very little. I already own the book "Rover the first 90 years", which covers up to the m...
