Would love to see this being made compatible with earlier cars who had no IR at all, such as mine

Some or all of this information is coded into the VIN. Considering that new spheres for Hydragas can't be sourced anymore, one would have to use refurbished ones, and although these are available from prime experts Ian and Dawn Kennedy, there's still the uncertainty that they wouldn't perform as good as new ones, thus casting a shadow on the end-result ...

Thanks for the interest and show of support on this project. I don't think we are far off. I really need to get one fully installed in a car and tested for a while just to be sure.... its tricky for me as I don't actually one one, my own coupe being a 1998 model ..still need to work out the costing...

It's the same thing the other way around, when we Europeans buy stuff in the UK and have it shipped over here. Shipping companies do all of the duties for you (paying VAT + custom taxes if any, which apply to any order over 150£ for parts not made in the UK or the EU, and there are many of those now...
