Try www radio-code.co.uk, if you can get the radio out you can match the serial number on their list, and then follow the instructions

It sounds like you need your front disc pads looked at. There is a metal strip on the brake pads that vibrates when it touches the disc, and it sounds like the wail of a banshee.

I have had this happen to me on a vehicle before, can't remember which one (old Timers disease), but it turned out to be the starter remained engaged when I fired up the car. Subsequentialy the starter ran on until I switched off, and if that was after a long journey the battery would be flat.Not ha...

Parts needed

Can anyone give me any info on :scared where to source a head gasket for my K8 engined 214i (96). So far I have been offered a shim type, and a composite type gasket, both claiming to be the MODIFIED one, and no manufactures name on the packet. I got the info from a friend who programs ecu's immobilisers and such like, he still insists that if you press only the locking button on the fob eight times this will program the new fob or the old one.

I recently fitted a new thermostat in my 214i, and found out, thanks to the parts chap that there are 2 types of stat. One has a plastic housing, the other a cast one , the stats are different might be worth while checking yours.

sorry, but the info should be ,press remote locking button on the fob 8 times, and not the drivers door as I said before, and then the horn should sound.

Hi Sam
You could try this piece of info I have picked up.
First make sure the remote has a new or working battery in it.
Sit in the car with all doors closed and press the drivers door button 8 times, not too fast, if all is working okay the horn should sound.
