Rev limiter 216 honda engine
Rev limiter 216 honda engine
Hi all,is there an easy to stop this cutting in other than taking my foot off the gas *laughs*,i'm just after a few extra revs, thanks.
Re: Rev limiter 216 honda engine
No as far as I'm aware. It is there to protect the engine, So I'd leave it alone. If you want abit of extra power why not fit a stainless exhaust which will make it breath better and add a K&N induction kit or panel filter (Which goes in the original air box) these will make it sound and run better and will add a few extra bhp.
Re: Rev limiter 216 honda engine
I use my rovers for oval racing so engine life is'nt to important, does anyone know how the limiter works exactly? cuts in at about 7000 revs i think.
Re: Rev limiter 216 honda engine
The rev limiter will be coded into the ECU I believe.
It will probably cut the spark rather than the fuel, but it could do either or even both.
As it is a honda lump the honda boys will probably be able to rechip/remap the ecu to alter or remove the rev limiter. I've not looked into it in detail though.
