There is a PRV setup really designed for the Freelander that resites the stat and also opens under pressure.

Beef on here manufactures a aluminium alloy housing to replace the plastic OEM job that also involves a resite too.

Send me a message if you want his telephone number, I decided against publishing it on the web.

This is the top hose assy that was brought to the BL Rally at MK yesterday by the very nice fella in the BRMs - didn't catch his name, sorry... :slapme

I thought I'd have a go at fitting one when I change the HG on the vi soon.

Does anybody have any spares of these from a Freelander by any chance ?

Or any of the hoses that could be modified to fit?

I have one of these already

but it's further complicated that I'm going to fitting A/C at the same time so will have to change the rad to have an angled-upwards top hose connection so my spare will only provide some sections

You can get the PRT kit of next to nothing from Britpart you just then need a 28/32mm 90 degree silicone hose to join the PRT to the bottom radiator. I would also advise using the later grey PRT thermostat housing as that's especially designed for the k-series (soft relief spring and opens earlier)

Not finding the Britpart site particularly easy to use... :mad

But found lots of the kits on ebay under the part number PCH001190. Most photos suggest they have cream colour housing though...

Yes unfortunately you have to buy the grey stat separate and it's quite expensive

Been running mine for 4 years I used stainless tee piece from a 75 turbo and hoses adapted to suit and can still fit in 160 vvc airbox works well .

DMGRS sell them grey and white plus the tee piece but not stainless your just need to rig up the hoses using your existing plus a bit extra :D and a low coolant expansion bottle is always a good up grade 😉
