Interesting! Was it blocked?JonWood1982 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 3:39 pm Thank you to all for your suggestions. I tried the earthing points (all that I could see) & didn't get round to the crankshaft sensor or compression test, however after replacing the mid exhaust it is starting first time every time since! Never realised the exhaust could cause a problem to starting!

The cat collapsed on my BRM a couple of years ago which made it lose a significant amount of power when the pieces blocked the centre exhaust box...might be worth checking to ensure similar hasn't happened here.

Re: Cabriolet is difficult to start
I would think not as the reason for replacing was the rear of the pipe being corroded through & already patched (twice) before! I would think probably not enough pressure being sent back to the engine - I could be talking total **** here though as I am not mechanically minded, just trying to make sense out of the pieces...itcaptainslow wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 4:43 pmInteresting! Re: Cabriolet is difficult to start
If it can’t get rid of the gasses it would just choke it’s self in the combustion chamber, thus not start.
Totally plausible.
