Sorry to put a downer on your glee, but 214s use a completely different gearbox from the rest of the R8s, a pretty poor Peugeot one.

The honda 1.6 is a strong engine, no head gasket scares and they're not too bad economy wise. Auto box always seems responsive too. If its 1994 it should have an airbag in the steering wheel and side impact bars, but as said it wont be NCAP tested, its too old! CV joints seem to go easily on R8s so...
