Time to redefine ourselves as the 100, 200 & 400 Owners Club !? Why not? There's a fair bit of crossover, especially engines and electrics. With regard to Metro/100....my daughter had a P reg 111 as her first car and absolutely loved it (she always a Metro when she was a kid - I've no idea why)...

It is worth trying the reg number in the TfL checker - my daughter's 175 quid 2002 1.4 Rover 25 was listed as "compliant"

To further muddy the waters, when I enter the registration number of my daughter's 2002 R25 1.4 into the TFL Vehicle Checker it says: Compliant

Don't discount the possibility that the rotor arm is shorting out as it warms up. This is surprisingly common and particularly affected black rotor arms produced 15-20 years ago. Cheap and easy to swap

It's as simple as "change the cluster" but try to get one from a model with the same engine/gearbox combo. In fact, if memory serves me right, you can just fit a replacement Speedo into your existing cluster. I had a 1994 manual 414 which was ex-Saudi Arabia and had been produced with a kp...

I would put the steering on full left lock so that the steering rack holds the column still. Then use a huge breaker bar with loads of your body weight on it
