Re: locked tailgate
It sounds like the boot latch is failing. To be honest I’d just swap it out.

Re: Electric Window Regulator Rover 214 R8
I think I’ve fixed this.
There was no spring but I’ve managed to reassemble the mechanism.
Got to put the door back together tomorrow.

Re: Electric Window Regulator Rover 214 R8
OK I’ve found the problem. Thanks to the post I’ve linked to below I’ve realised the coiled spring is missing. God knows where it is though as it’s not in the door cavity!! Does anyone have a 5 door electric window mechanism front drivers side? https://rover200.org.uk/forums/topic?p=105313#p105313 M...

Electric Window Regulator Rover 214 R8
Hi all, I was out in my R8 today - I operated the window and heard a clunk and the window stopped working. It looks as though the pivot of has come away from the motor - hard to describe but I've recorded a short video. I can work out how to put It back together, but I think I must be missing a clip...

Re: 420GSI Tourer various fixes
Yes Paul, at this time of year we need some wins with out cars. I certainly didn’t after 3 hours being unsuccessful in lighting up my temperature gauge needle! I need to sort some bodywork (too cold for the next 3months), a blowing exhaust that isn’t actually blowing when I check it by trying to pu...

Nice one Matthew. I need to keep being inspired as I’ve had too much going on to even go near my SEi for the last 6 months.

Re: 214 running
Turning over and not starting sounds like the rotor arm - nice easy and cheap fix.

Re: ECU Reset
I don’t know if you are referring to starting when hot, but if so, the fuel relay behind the centre console is notorious for failing on the Honda D series. A quick and easy fix if so - you can swap it or resolder the joints. Should be plenty of posts on this forum about it.

Re: Alloy Wheelnuts
Yes I’ve had this problem over the years, so much so I’ve not let a tyre fitter near my wheel nuts for years. I prefer to take the wheels off myself and just take the wheel in my other car when the tyre needs changing. I’ve had aftermarket wheel nuts previously but they don’t look right. For my SEi,...
