Re: Keyfob
Either will do. Yours been an early car could use the 3TXA. The later cars from 98 with the friendly immobliser disarm need the TXB's. Just make sure though that who ever codes your car has got the correct equipment and also the 3 pin lead. Yours will use the earliery Mems 1.6 which should have a wh...

Re: SRS Warning light
The alarm went off as you unlocked the door with the key or didnt lock it. Common problem on the HHR and the 45 is the Honda door connector. There wires break in the connector and as the door lock itself works a mechanical linkage you can indeed open the door and the alarm still trigger if the lock ...

Re: Universal Electric Windows / Remote Central Locking
I have done many a window conversion in my time. I would fit the standard ones in the front and just wire them up as an accessory and use the standard switch's etc. You can get blanks for the door card and many are still in stock with Rover. Best ones to use are the later Rover 100 ones as there the...

Re: Retro fitting steering wheel controls
Not as easy as it sounds. You would need a rotory coupler, the indicator holder would need changing. Once all thats dont its just two wires in PIN1 and PIN2. Pin 1 is at the far left as the sit in the drivers seat. Also you have to bare in mind that there was afew versions of the switch and the coup...

Re: Cabriolet Door Cards
Has nobody had this problem before. This is my second Cabby with the problem and my old coupe had the same issue. I have tried gaffa tape to make the thickness up and cause it to stick down but the weather strips still stick up and not bend over the door tops. Why did Rover use such a cheap nasty se...

Re: Jerky when accelerating/decelerating
Another common issue at low speeds is the plastic throttle body itself. The butterfly in them can stick and then it releases giving you the jerky or kangaroo effect on the throttle.
Simple fix for this is to shave a little off the butterfly or fit an alloy one.

Re: Lucas dizzy cap/rotor arm - counterfeit?
I know this is an old thread but Lucas pulled out of the car parts business ageas ago when TRW took them over. Thats why Rover had to update the 25/45 to use the Pektron SCU unit as TRW also pulled the 5AS unit and 10AS from production. I tend not to use Lucas stuff these days as its mostly far east...

Re: Somehow broke several random electrics on my Tourer
Down the left side behind the center console is a loom which has quite a bit of feed off wires etc. I have known them to rub through on the center metal cage and cause all sorts of havack.

Cabriolet Door Cards
Took my door cards off to change the motor on the central locking. It never fitted over the top of the door well before removing it. Now I have got it off its all bent and the carboard/wood of the card is all damaged etc. What do people do to bend it back or atleast make it stronger and sit in the t...
